Day 1

BANGKOK RURAL CANALS & WAT ARUN TOUR (09.00-12.00 13:30–16:30)

09.00 or 1:30 PM – Meet your guide at the hotel lobby and transfer to the Chao Phraya River pier.
Board a traditional long-tail boat and cruise through the peaceful rural canals of Thonburi.
Enjoy picturesque views of local life along the waterways.
Stop at Wat Arun, the iconic Temple of Dawn.
12.00 or 4:30 PM – Return to the pier and transfer back to your hotel.

Bangkok was once known as the "Venice of the East" because the city was built along the many waterways. Since then, many of the canals on the east side of the river have been filled, giving way to concrete and asphalt. On the west side of Thonburi, however, crossable canals still exist and make for excellent studies of how locals lived in the past. This excursion, with a long tail boat, takes you through its canals, locally known as Khlongs to explore the greenest and most peaceful part of Bangkok. Leave the hassle of the city behind as you travel to the area where people live in houses on stilts and still travel by boat along the canals.
