Day 1
CHIANG MAI - ARRIVAL - DOI SUTHEP, CITY TEMPLES , MONKS CHANTING. (L.)
Arrival at the airport in Chiang Mai. Meeting with the guide and transfer to the hotel. At 12:00 meeting with the guide, transfer to the restaurant for lunch.
The visit to Chiang Mai can only begin with its most famous temple, Wat Pratat Doi Suthep, located on a mountain from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the hilly area of Chiang Mai. Built in the early 19th century Buddhist (now we are 26th), the beauty of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is marked by seven-headed snake statues flanking the stairs to the temple where there is a golden Chiang Saen style pagoda and all its exquisite Lanna architecture. The view of Chiang Mai from here is simply phenomenal.
We return to the city where the past is not only made up of stories and old moldy history books, it is a very real part of everyday life. The city is defined by a 600-year-old moat, is located in the shadow of a monastery built in the 14th century and is dotted with temples built by kings in past centuries. In ancient times, kings-built temples to demonstrate not only their devotion, but also their wealth and power. Temples served not only as faith centers, but also as schools and hospitals. Today temples are still a central part of Thai life, and the sacred structures of Chiang Mai are living places that breathe as priceless bridges to the past, keeping people tied to the timeless traditions of their ancestors. The visit includes Wat Pra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Chiang Man. During the visit, we also could observe the monks singing, perfectly in unison, their prayers that resonate throughout the room and that make the experience truly spiritual.
The return to the hotel is scheduled at 17:30 approx.
