DAY 3 KHAO SOK Transfer
Day 1
DAY 1 – SURAT THANI – KHAO SOK – Arrival – Transfer (D.)
Arrival at Surat Thani (Pick-up available from 08:30–10:00 and 12:30–13:00), followed by private transfer to Chiew Larn Pier.
Arrival at the pier must be at least 30 minutes before the scheduled boat departures (12:00 & 15:30).
Chiew Larn Lake, also known as the Ratchaprapha Dam Reservoir, stretches over 165 km² within Khao Sok National Park.
It is a man-made lake created in 1982 with the construction of the Ratchaprapha Dam for hydroelectricity, flood control, and water supply purposes.
During this 1-hour boat transfer, you will cross one of the most spectacular natural environments in southern Thailand:
The emerald-green waters are surrounded by towering limestone cliffs up to 900 meters high, sculpted over millions of years.
The area is home to one of the world's oldest evergreen rainforests with exceptional biodiversity.
The route offers breathtaking views and generally stable weather conditions, though mild waves may occur.
Along the way, you may spot floating villages, traditional raft houses, and—with luck—wildlife such as gibbons, fishing eagles, or large monitor lizards along the shores.
Operational Notes:
We recommend packing personal items in waterproof bags.
Life jackets must be worn for the entire boat ride.
In case of rain, the boat operates as usual unless weather conditions are unsafe.
Arrival at the floating hotel is expected after approx. 60 minutes of navigation (subject to water level and weather). Check-in and room allocation.
Evening (5:00–6:00 PM): Optional Wildlife Safari (included).
Wild animals can often be observed along the lake’s edge throughout the year. This guided boat safari heads into the Khlong Saeng Wildlife Sanctuary, where sightings may include wild gaur (especially in the dry season), wild elephants, boars, and hornbills.
Enjoy the magical atmosphere of sunset over the lake—a moment of peace and natural beauty.
Note: Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.
Included: Boat transfer with stop at Khao Sam Klur, Wildlife Safari, Dinner, and Overnight Stay.
Tip: Pack a small trolley for your 2-night stay and leave large luggage in a secure room at the pier.
