SIC DEPARTURE: MON WED FRI
Day 1
CHIANG MAI – Elephant Sanctuary & Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (L.)
Today we embark on an extraordinary experience at an elephant sanctuary, where you'll have the chance to connect with these majestic pachyderms. This half-day program offers close encounters with elephants in their natural habitat, providing insights into their history, behavior, and the importance of their protection. A truly unforgettable experience, filled with memories that will last a lifetime.
Elephant Experience: Close-up Encounter at Ecovalley Sanctuary – Mae Taeng
Join us for an immersive day at Ecovalley Sanctuary, featuring five hands-on activities with the elephants:
Learn all about elephants in Thailand at the Elephant Culture Museum – the only one of its kind in the country.
Feed the elephants with herbal balls, fruit, bananas, and sugarcane.
Participate in making paper from elephant dung.
Discover traditional herbal treatments, walk through the natural garden, and help prepare vitamin-rich energy balls for the elephants.
Watch the elephants bathing in mud under a waterfall – or bathe them yourself!
This enriching activity will deepen your understanding of these noble animals while you enjoy the stunning natural surroundings of the sanctuary.
11:30 – Farewell to the elephants
Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch at an orchid farm.
Afternoon: Visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
We conclude the day with a visit to Chiang Mai’s most iconic temple, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, perched atop a mountain offering panoramic views of the city and nearby hills.
Built in the early 19th Buddhist century (we are now in the 26th), the temple is known for its golden Chiang Saen-style chedi, surrounded by elegant Lanna-style architecture.
Reach the temple by climbing 309 steps flanked by mythical seven-headed Naga serpents that lend a mystical aura to the experience.
From the temple’s terrace, the view over Chiang Mai is breathtaking, especially in the afternoon light.
