DAY 2 – CHIANG RAI – WHITE TEMPLE, AHSA FARM & DOI MAE SALONG (B.L.)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Around 07:30 in the morning, meet with your guide and depart for another beautiful and intense day of visits.
The day begins with a visit to the White Temple, or Wat Rong Khun, one of Chiang Rai’s most iconic religious landmarks. Renowned for its exceptional artistry and highly elaborate architecture, the assembly hall of Wat Rong Khun is unlike any other temple, featuring both sculpted gables and tooth-shaped roof ridges. The hall is built almost entirely in pure white, symbolizing the Buddha’s purity. The sparkling mirror glass details represent the wisdom of the Enlightened One shining upon the earth and the universe.
Following this, an engaging rural experience awaits you at Ahsa Farm.

Farm Visit (30 min):
Walk through the fields with a local farmer, meet and feed the buffalo, explore the rice paddies, and observe how rubber is tapped from trees.

Cooking Class (2 hrs):
Pick organic ingredients from the farm (eggs, vegetables, banana blossom, bamboo shoots – seasonal).
Prepare local dishes with a village chef:

Chili Paste with Tomato and Minced Pork (Nam Prik Ong)

Coconut Sweet & Sour Mushroom Soup (Tom Kha Hed)

Steamed Sweet Banana Dessert (Khanom Gluay)

Lunch includes:

Your cooked dishes

2 additional recipes (e.g., sautéed vegetables with duck egg, deep-fried veggies)

Seasonal fruit, coffee or tea
(Vegan/gluten-free/pork-free/beef-free options available)

In the afternoon, drive to Mae Salong, a village with strong Yunnanese Chinese roots, settled by Kuomintang soldiers in the 1960s. Continue to Tha Ton. Arrival around 17:30–18:00. Evening at leisure.
